Duke Pre-College Middle School and High School Summer 2022 Applications are open!


Apply to join Duke University this summer in one of our academic programs for grades 6-11.

Academically motivated middle and high school students will discover courses from across the curriculum in our summer 2022 programs this June and July. Courses are offered in engineering, humanities, mathematics, science, social sciences and technology. Grade level is determined by the student's status for the 2021-2022 school year.

Please review the middle school policies and high school policies before applying. All applications require a $75 nonrefundable fee. 
    

Pre-College Programs

Duke Pre-College Programs provide academically motivated middle and high school students with rigorous learning experiences. Building on the legacy of Duke University programs, including Youth Programs and the Talent Identification Program (TIP), Duke Pre-College Programs inspire and challenge the next generation of problem-solvers. Our diverse selection of courses is designed to bring the Duke experience to current 6th-11th graders through cutting-edge topics featuring Duke guest speakers, researchers and resources.

In Duke Pre-College’s 2022 Residential Program, you will enjoy an unforgettable two-week residential and academic experience. Live in a Duke dormitory, eat in world-class dining facilities, and visit significant locations throughout campus. Experience life at Duke University!

Hybrid 2022

Duke Pre-College’s Hybrid Program provides one week of synchronous and asynchronous online learning and one week immersed in the residential and academic life of Duke University! Enjoy the best of both learning experiences in Duke Pre-College’s Hybrid Program.

Pre-college labs & Expert panels week 2022

High School Course Options
  • High School (June 19 – June 24, 2022)

Enjoy a first-hand look at Duke University’s cutting-edge facilities and hear from leading experts in Duke Pre-College’s Labs & Expert Panels Week. Study a topic through active, hands-on learning while living on Duke University’s beautiful campus during an intensive week of discovery and innovation.  

Online 2022

High School Course Options
  • High School (July 18 – July 29, 2022)

Enjoy the Duke experience from home in Duke’s Online Program. Study a topic of interest and connect with a global network of peers. Daily lessons will include both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. Experience live Zoom meetings with your instructors and like-minded students. Take part in active small and whole group activities while enjoying the flexibility of online learning in Duke Pre-College’s Online Program.

College credit for Commuter & online-only 2022

High School Course Options

Qualified 10th and 11th grade students (2021-2022 academic year) may take Duke University undergraduate courses for credit in commuter or online courses. More information is available on the Duke Summer Session website.
