The Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University is a small liberal arts community within a large research university.
Founded in 2014, the Lyceum Scholars Program offers $10,000 scholarships for students to attend Clemson University and study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. Lyceum Scholars read great books throughout eight courses that range from ancient political thought to the political thought of the American founding to constitutional law.
Central to the program is the individualized mentorship Lyceum professors are able to offer Lyceum Scholars, especially through Socratic Tutor Sessions, which provide an opportunity for students to meet with faculty and discuss morality and the ways in which ideas from the classroom connect to everyday life. Many Lyceum Scholars consider their Socratic Tutor Sessions to be the highlight of their experience at Clemson University.
How to Apply
The Lyceum Scholars Program is open to incoming freshmen of ANY major. Interested students should apply in their senior year of high school to both the Lyceum Scholars Program and Clemson University.
