Boston Leadership Academy
Grades: 7-12
Take part in our award-winning summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) teen academic programs. Gifted students will engage in experimental research & take exciting field trips. Topics include Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, STEM Entrepreneurship, and more.
One-week programs allow students with limited free time the opportunity to dive into a unique STEM subject. These are also an excellent way to mix and match several subjects, helping students decide what they feel most passionate about.
Three-week research programs offer an exclusive opportunity for high school students to study at an advanced level. Whether it’s in the lab, on a field trip to Boston’s famed facilities, or presenting their individual project to the class, BLI three-week students join an elite group who experience college-level academia before graduating from high school.
One-week edge programs offer students the chance to get ahead of the curve when preparing for math, science, or AP courses. Whether it’s to get a better score in geometry, get a five in AP Biology, or to strive in Physics, Edge programs will prepare you for that task.
SCIENCE: For students who envision themselves making discoveries in the lab or developing groundbreaking cures, a three-week research program will be a dream come true. Not only do the Science programs allow students the opportunity to clock hours upon hours in the lab, but many are BLI’s flagship programs. Having been honed over time and led by teachers with incomparable lists of accomplishments, these programs are perfect for the future scientist.
ENGINEERING/TECH: Given that engineering is one of the most lucrative career paths, it does a student well to select this area of study early on. BLI offers programs in robotics, aerodynamics, mechanics, and more, all of which require students to develop advanced critical thinking skills and techniques. Whether it be an airplane or a prosthetic limb, high school students rarely have the opportunity to study the inner-workings of our most fascinating technology like they do in BLI’s Engineering programs.
MEDICINE: For students on the pre-med track, there is no better credential to add to a college application than a three-week, competitive admissions research program. Students may practice suturing skills, emergency procedures, or anatomy research, spending hours each day in the lab assisted by experienced TAs and outstanding instructors. Future medical students will thrilled by the active, hands-on nature of BLI’s Medicine programs.

NYU Tandon Machine Summer Learning Program
NYU Tandon’s Program in Machine Learning offers middle and high school students the opportunity to develop and apply practical skills in the cutting-edge fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
NYU’s Tandon Program in Machine Learning is a two-week online program that introduces middle and high school students to the data analysis, computer science, mathematical techniques, and logic that drive the fields of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). New and always improving applications in these fields are increasingly apparent in more aspects of our daily lives, such as interactive voice controls for homes; autonomous vehicles; real-time monitoring and traffic control; cutting-edge diagnostic medical technologies; and video and image recognition technologies.
This program offers students a unique opportunity to learn directly from some of today’s most innovative researchers in the field. Students will learn ML’s core principles such as model development through cross validation, linear regressions, and neural networks. They will develop an understanding of how logic and mathematics are applied both to “teach” a computer to perform specific tasks on its own and continuously improve those tasks along the way.
The program is suited for academically strong students who have an interest in computer and data science and the ways in which they are used in society to develop new capabilities, services, and products. No prior experience in computer science is required.

UNC-Wilmington Marine Quest Summer Program
Grades: 7-12
Dive into Marine Science with UNCW MarineQuest!
Discover the amazing world of modern marine science while exploring beautiful coastal habitats with our university-based summer academic enrichment programs.
Experience applied marine biology, chemistry, geology, physics, engineering and biotechnology while conducting field-based scientific investigations at the marsh, beach, fouling docks, and/or on a research vessel.
Start developing the skills and tools you will need to become a modern marine scientist by participating in laboratory and field-based research, and in a variety of water sports to enhance your learning, including: fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and/or scuba diving. All campers will contribute to a coastal community service project to give back to the marine environment. Past projects have included removing marine debris, building a living seashore, and monitoring plankton.
In order to ensure a quality experience, we have created a variety of different summer and school-year programs that are suited for appropriate ages, academic standing, and maturity levels. Check out our website to find a program right for you!
About UNCW MarineQuest
For more than 40 years, MarineQuest has been the official marine science outreach program for the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Watson College of Education, and the Center for Marine Science that provides young people with opportunities to explore, discover and value our marine habitats. Whether you experience MarineQuest as a summer camper exploring the ocean or as a student on a school field trip discovering the marsh, the outcome is the same: MarineQuest is more than just another day at the beach; MarineQuest is making waves in environmental education!
